New Yahoo! Mail Domains

So here it comes. Yahoo! rolled out two new email domains, Ymail (@ymail.com) and Rocketmail (@rocketmail.com)

Yahoo, announced yesterday two (2) new domains to choose from for people who will register a new email address. The ymail.com (hmmm… just like gmail.com of Google), and the other one is rocketmail.com which was from RocketMail email service by Four11 until Yahoo! acquired the service and the company last 1997.

The idea is that with two brand-spanking-new domains, people can register the names they want instead of a jumble of letters and numbers that don't make much sense. Also, a Yahoo email address is as anti-snazzy as it gets.

Firefox 3 - to set world record

Web lovers here it comes! The latest version of the most amazing web browser. I noticed that Mozilla’s servers are kinda slow at the time of this writing and some of my friends are having problems downloading Firefox 3. I bet that’s because of Mozilla’s campaign to set a Guinness World Record for the most software downloaded in 24 hours (read it here). So what are you waiting for, go and download it now. Why? Well click here, here and here to know why.

Addicted to Parking Wars

Yet another Facebook Application that I am into, Parking Wars is a simple game where you start with a street named after you and two cars. Your goal is to find a parking place for your cars on someone else’s street and wait while they earn up. And re-park your car when the earning of the car is at max value. Right now I only have 4 cars… and I want to have that multi-color car, where you can park anywhere (as long as parking is allowed). And of course, I hope to get all the badges (i only have one). Here are some of the badges and how to get it:

  • Untouchable Bronze: 25 consecutive cash ins without a ticket.
  • Untouchable Silver: 100 consecutive cash ins without a ticket.
  • Merciless: $50000 worth of tickets given out in 24 hours or less.
  • The Night Watch (Bronze): 5 Tickets Between 12AM - 1AM (mountain time).
  • The Night Watch (Silver): 15 Tickets Between 12AM - 1AM (mountain time).
  • The Night Watch (Gold): 50 Tickets Between 12AM - 1AM (mountain time).
  • Obsession: 25 consecutive tickets given out to cars of the same colors.
  • Quick Draw: 5 tickets given out in 5 minutes or less.
  • Monotone: parked the last car on a street of all one colors.
  • Rainbow: parked the last car on a street with all different colors.
  • The Outlaw: 5 of your cars parked illegally on the same street at the same time.
  • Eagle Eye (Bronze): 6 tickets of $110 or less given.
  • Eagle Eye (silver): 15 tickets of $110 or less given.

What is an OpenID?

For Starters

If you’re an internet-savvy person, you might have seen the term “OpenID”. Most of the time, you’ll see it near a login form of a website with something like “Login with OpenID” . So what is OpenID? Here’s a quick excerpt from Wikipedia:
OpenID is a shared identity service, which allows Internet users to log on to many different web sites using a single digital identity, eliminating the need for a different user name and password for each site. OpenID is a decentralized, free and open standard that lets users control the amount of personal information they provide. OpenID by Wikipedia
What Does It Look Like?

For simplicity sake, your OpenID will be something like username.openidprovider.com. It’s in a URI format which depends on your OpenID provider.
Provider?

To get your own OpenID, you need to find an OpenID provider. Luckily, some popular websites like Yahoo! and Blogger can help you get started if you already use their services. For more provider options, check out this list by the OpenID wiki.

Color Matters in Web Design

Color is the most important element in designs. Sometimes the color speaks louder than the content (in some ways). Colors can make your web site look darkly or brightly, girly or boyish, preppy or oldies type of website (actually, a lot more types). Okay, my main point is, one should also have the knowledge or skills in color mixture in order for him or her to create a nice website – an appealing one. And to help you choose the right color for your web let us see what the colors are saying to us?
  • WHITE: white color is very nice for the surrounding color on every web page. White color is the symbol of the peace, honesty, cleanliness, attachment etc. it is the nice and best color.
  • RED: this color is most sensitively brilliant color and has the sources of quicker pant. It is the symbol of the power, feat, poise and excitement.
  • ORANGE: orange color is the searing color to the person watch. It is the color of cheerfulness, power, and goal.
  • BLACK: is the most attractive color of the web designers because it is useful for the display text when they are using this color as the setting. It is color of enthusiasm, rapidly and load appeal.
  • BLUE: Blue is the second most popular color between web designers. It is associated with stability and depth. It represents wisdom, confidence and loyalty.
  • GREEN: it is the color of well matched in every eye and has most heal control. It is the color of increase, agreement and richness.
  • YELLOW: it is the color which enhance meditation. It was the knowledge, pleasure and joy.
  • PINK: it is very silent color and it is the symbol of lovability, faith and purity.
  • BROWN: it is the color through which you can merge up the setting. It shows the represent respect and wealth.
Remember that the more color the more risk we are in, so try to limit your primary color in to two to three colors only. If you are designing for the company then you have to take the into consideration the color of the company logo and try to give more attractiveness into the design. That’s all. Hope it helps.

Addicted to Mob Wars

I suppose everyone who have a Facebook should have a Mobwars application. Hahaha! I became addicted to MobWars last Monday. A friend told me to get on it right away. So I opened my browser and go to Facebook and joined his “mob” and since then I’ve been thinking and dreaming of new tactics, weaponry, etc.

The point is to buy loads of weapons, do lots of jobs (dirty jobs) for cash and then use the cash to either buy more weapons or invest in parts of the city that will then give you a regular income. You need the best weaponry as people tend to attack you as what they did to me. When I first joined I thought it was fun to attack random people on my level and win. Only now those people have gotten bigger and stronger and are wreaking their revenge! So I spend most of my time working out how I can get more cash to arm myself better. You can also punch people in the face which I like to do for no good reason other than it makes me feel better. And if someone really pisses you off and you have enough money, you can put a bounty on them and someone will kill them for you. Right now, I am just at Level 19 (on my way to Level 20).

Here are some tips for those who want to add the application in their Facebook:

  • First, you should try to gain experience so do a lot of jobs only to gain experience and make money. Just do the jobs and let your energy regenerate and keep doing jobs.
  • Invite friends to join and be in your mob.
  • Once you have some money, you should try buying real estate.
  • Don’t bother selling off smaller real estate to fund larger real estate. You lose money.
  • Buy real estate in increments of 5 or 10, shown in the drop-down. The price goes up with each purchase, so if you buy them one at a time, you’ll pay more for them.
  • Do business while you’re in the hospital. When you’re in the hospital, you can be punched in the face, but not attacked, and hence, not robbed of your cash on hand.
  • Walking around healthy and withdrawing $15M is a bad idea. You’ll get hit on your way to the dealership and loss some money.
  • If you like fighting. Buy an Armed Range Rover (The strongest in the game) for 9,000. Buy an assault rifle and some body armor. Fighting them will gain experience and sometimes money.
  • to sum it up… do jobs, build cities, fight, invite, and ENJOY.
